Mark Hegarty Strikes again

Mark Hegarty finished 10th in the Steeplechase at the New Balance outdoor track national championships this past weekend in Greensboro, NC. He improved his state record in the event to 6:15.55. Below is a link to the video of the race. Mark will be running for Umass-Lowell this fall and studying Criminal Justice.

Panther Pride--Scholarships and Grants

Cathedral's graduating class were offered over $13 million in college/university scholarships and grants, the vast majority of which are academic. In addition, myriad awards were won including: 
  • The Boland Scholarship Award is awarded to a student who is a resident of the Second Congressional District or Hampden County, exhibits academic merit and success in extracurricular activities. Students must submit an essay describing their academic goals, interests and achievements as well as any special circumstances.  Winners are:
    • Brianna Jackson

    • Christopher Madden
    • Myles Baidy
    • Erica D'Angelo
    • Kim Nguyen
    • Sara Price
    • Nora Garrity
  • St. Mary's CYO Service Scholarship is given to a student who represents the Christian values of respect, love, compassion and support and who has demonstrated service to community.  Winner is:
    • Mary Kate Browne 
  • Mass Mutual Career Pathways Award is awarded to a student(s) with a 3.0 GPA or better, and is interested in pursuing a career in business, financial services, or informational technology.  The student(s) must provide a statement regarding their career goals and interests, be a resident of Hampden County MA or Hartford County CT, and plan to attend college in MA or CT.  Winners are: 
    • Frank Grimaldi
    • Trinh Pham
    • Danielle Savoie
